"Micromegas," first published in 1752, is a seminal science-fiction short story by Voltaire. The narrative follows Micromegas, a colossal explorer from the star Sirius, as he visits Earth and encounters its tiny inhabitants, initially underestimating their intelligence. Through his journey, Voltaire presents a satirical view of humanity, inviting readers to reflect on their own significance in the universe while exploring themes of interstellar travel and alien life.
