Edgar Allan Poe, born in Boston on January 19, 1809, faced a tumultuous childhood marked by the loss of his parents and adoption issues. Despite financial struggles, he published his first poetry volume in 1827, later turning to prose and earning fame with works like "The Raven." Known for his mastery of the mysterious and macabre, he also contributed to the detective genre with his character C. Auguste Dupin. Poe passed away on October 7, 1849, and the cause of his death remains shrouded in mystery.
