Invading Tibet

In 1904, a contingent of 2,500 British Imperial troops invaded Tibet with the aim of capturing the Dalai Lama and asserting control over the region amid international rivalries. Accompanying them is London journalist Edmund Candler, whose observations reveal the unsettling and mystical nature of Tibet, contrasting starkly with the soldiers' mechanistic worldview. As the troops journey deeper into the captivating landscape, they become increasingly disoriented and challenged by both the environment and their own inner turmoil. Candler, however, remains spellbound by Tibet's beauty and mystery, recognizing that their mission lacks a true objective beyond mere conquest.
