Set in the fictional town of Mudfog, inspired by Dickens's own experiences in Chatham, "The Mudfog Papers and Other Sketches" features the amusing antics of the Mudfog Society for the Advancement of Everything. This society serves as a comical parody of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, weaving together elements of satire and social commentary. Originally linked to "Oliver Twist," the stories reflect Dickens's keen observations of society and human behavior.
