"Moving the Mountain" is a feminist utopian novel set against the backdrop of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century speculative literature, exploring themes of social idealism and progress. It features a man transported to a better world, facing challenges in adjusting to this new society. The story also includes "Herland," an account of an all-female society that reproduces without men, presenting an ideal social order free from conflict and domination, as seen through the eyes of a sociology student and his friends on an expedition.
