Wine of Violence

Set in late summer 1270, this story follows Eleanor of Wynethorpe as she takes on the challenging role of prioress at the small Tyndal priory, just after the upheaval of the Simon de Montfort rebellion. Her leadership is tested almost immediately by a gruesome murder and the arrival of a troubled young priest, Brother Thomas, bringing issues of violence, desire, and greed into focus. The narrative explores Eleanor’s efforts to establish order and respect amidst turmoil and suspicion.
