After Boston's Red Sox win their second world championship in four years, team owner Louis Kenwood receives a threatening note from someone claiming to be Babe Ruth, alleging a historic World Series fix and demanding money to stay silent. Fearing reputational and financial damage, he enlists private detective Sam Skarda to uncover the truth behind the extortion plot. As the investigation takes him from Los Angeles to Venezuela, Skarda faces challenges in identifying the real threats and safeguarding the team’s legacy.
