In post-World War I Bellhaven, South Carolina, the townspeople discover a mysterious chapel in the woods that initially seems to bring healing and peace after years of sorrow. Guided by Ellsworth Newberry, a man grappling with personal loss, the community's newfound joy quickly spirals into tension and distrust as dark forces emerge. As supernatural elements threaten to tear the town apart, Ellsworth must confront his own demons and rally the townsfolk to confront the lurking evil before it's too late.
