The Odyssey

The Odyssey by Homer is an ancient Greek epic that narrates the challenging journey of the hero Ulysses as he strives to return home to Ithaca after the Trojan War, facing divine obstacles and numerous adventures along the way. While Ulysses is away, his wife Penelope and son Telemachus contend with persistent suitors vying for Penelope’s hand, believing Ulysses to be dead. The poem explores themes of perseverance, loyalty, and heroism, and remains one of the foundational works of Western literature, dating back to the late 8th century BC.
