Things I Know

This coming-of-age story follows 18-year-old Saoirse as she navigates the aftermath of personal tragedy and societal blame following her ex-boyfriend's death. Struggling with intense anxiety and loneliness, she is eventually hospitalized after a difficult prom night, beginning a slow journey toward healing. With support from unlikely allies including a hospital cleaner, her grandmother, and her sister, Saoirse works to regain hope and rediscover herself. The novel was nominated for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Writing 2023.
