The Subprimes

In a near-future America where credit scores dictate worth, a disenfranchised class known as the Subprimes struggles to survive in a world marked by extreme wealth inequality and environmental decay. Forced to leave their homes and constantly evade arrest, a Subprime family embarks on a desperate migration east, where they encounter a writer and his family, who are also facing financial ruin. Together, they stumble upon a small settlement of Subprimes who have built a hopeful agrarian community, only to find their newfound stability at risk from powerful entities seeking to exploit the land for shale oil extraction.
