Gunk Baby

Set in the suburbs of Par Mars, Gunk Baby follows twenty-four-year-old Leen as she opens an ear-cleaning and massage studio, introducing traditional Chinese rituals to the West. As strange incidents occur and Leen befriends a pharmacist interested in a mysterious online forum, she becomes embroiled in a community challenging consumerism and societal routines. With a sharp, inventive narrative, Jamie Marina Lau explores themes of capitalism, culture, and unrest in a world eerily close to our own.
