Walter French was a remarkable athlete who played in both Major League Baseball and the National Football League during the same season, a feat achieved by only nineteen men in history. Notably, he was the only player from this group to be part of a World Series-winning team and an NFL Championship team. In 1925, he led the Pottsville Maroons to victory over the Chicago Cardinals, although the title was later stripped, a decision still debated today. He went on to win the World Series in 1929 with the Philadelphia Athletics, sharing the field with legendary figures of the 1920s.
