Set against the challenging backdrop of the outer colonies, this story follows miner-turned-farmer Abraham Bauer as he searches for companionship and love. Gael Sonnen, who has spent his life underground, arrives on Alkirak seeking a new beginning as a mail-order husband, but his arrival quickly encounters unforeseen obstacles. As their relationship develops, external threats from Gael’s past begin to endanger their futures and the lives they've fought to build.
