Mairynne, a young woman from a casteless background, flees her homeland after a decree that her aunt should ascend to power, embarking on a journey across diverse landscapes and encountering new friends and prophecies along the way. Guided by mysterious stones and protected by Gensui Thalaj Northerngale, she navigates her country's terrains, facing unknown threats as she searches for something deeply personal—family. Her voyage ultimately leads her to the City by the Sea and into uncharted waters across Syrensea, revealing a quest far beyond duty.
