The People of the Parish

In The People of the Parish, Katherine L. French explores the vibrant and participatory nature of late medieval religion through detailed parish records from the Diocese of Bath and Wells. Highlighting the diverse ways in which communities engaged with faith, the book reveals how parish life integrated secular and sacred concerns, reflecting a flexible Christianity that accommodated differences in status, gender, and local priorities in the two centuries before the Reformation.
