Trellin, a hunter who has been confined by family obligations, risks everything to participate in the Festival of Knives, hoping to prove himself by hunting a rare monster. When caught, he is offered a daring opportunity to compete in a dangerous race to become Guildmaster, sailing to the distant isle of Deldynne.
