This Is My America

In this compelling debut novel, seventeen-year-old Tracy Beaumont writes letters to Innocence X, seeking help for her father, an innocent Black man on death row with only 267 days left to live. As her world unravels with the arrival of the police and her brother Jamal is accused of a crime, Tracy embarks on a harrowing investigation into the truth behind the accusations and the lingering racist injustices of their Texas town. This poignant narrative, reminiscent of "The Hate U Give" and "Just Mercy," challenges and uplifts as it explores the impact of systemic racism on families and communities.
