The Book of Esther

In an alternate history set in August 1942, the Khazar kaganate—a resilient empire of Turkic warrior Jews—stands as the last barrier against the Nazi invasion heading towards Stalingrad. As Germania's siege looms, Esther, the chief policy adviser's daughter, recognizes the grave threat to her nation and feels compelled to fight. Determined to protect her homeland, she embarks on a dangerous journey across the steppe, seeking a legendary village of Kabbalists who may possess the means to transform her into a man, enabling her to rally her people to the defense against an unprecedented enemy.
