A Pilgrimage to Murder

In the summer of 1381, Brother Athelstan plans a pilgrimage to St. Thomas Becket's shrine in Canterbury to express gratitude for his congregation's safety following the Great Revolt. However, his preparations are abruptly halted when he's called to investigate a gruesome triple murder linked to the chief clerk of John of Gaunt's Secret Chancery. As Athelstan delves deeper, he receives ominous threats from a mysterious assassin known as Azrael, raising the stakes of his journey and hinting at a possible deadly trap.
