Sadie Wagner, a devoted family woman, moves to Goldtree, Kansas, to work at the local mercantile and to pursue her passion for singing, despite the unexpected challenges of her new environment. Thad McKane arrives in town to uncover bootlegging activities, with aspirations of becoming a minister, and finds himself both intrigued and suspicious of Sadie. As their paths cross amidst the town’s troubles, their growing connection is tested by secrets and uncertainties.
