My Name Means Fire

In "My Name Means Fire," Atash Yaghmaian delivers a gripping debut memoir that chronicles her turbulent childhood in Iran, marked by abuse, the ravages of war, and oppressive superstition. Faced with an unsafe reality, she escapes into her imagination, discovering a magical realm called the House of Stone, inhabited by nine beings that represent aspects of herself. As she grapples with her experiences against the tumultuous backdrop of the Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War, this powerful narrative offers a profound exploration of dissociative identity disorder (DID) and the resilience of the human spirit.
