In 1955, the residents of Scotland Road are faced with the threat of government demolition plans, with Polly’s Parlour café serving as the hub for their resistance. As tensions rise following a violent incident involving local priest Father Brennan and young Billy Blunt, community spirit shifts towards vengeance. Frank Charleson, a business entrepreneur turned local hero after saving Billy, becomes increasingly drawn to Polly Kennedy, who is struggling to care for her disabled twin brother amid her own challenges.
