Impressed by a puppet master's work, the Margrave orders them to create life-size marionette soldiers, putting increasing pressure on the team as deadlines tighten. When the puppet master's health declines, his daughter Pirouette steps in, only to face darker ambitions from the Margrave's son, who desires her to craft an assassin imbued with life. As Tavia edges toward war and Pirouette races against the looming blue moon, she grapples with whether her creations will become masterpieces or monsters.
