Hanging Murder

In 1894, retired executioner Mr. Simeon Crosby visits Wigan to speak about his life’s work, attracting both interest and opposition from the local community. Tensions rise amid protests and threats, prompting Detective Sergeant Brennan to oversee security during Crosby’s visit. When a murder occurs on the night of the talk, Brennan and his partner Freddie Jaggery face a challenging investigation filled with numerous suspects and elusive evidence.
