Words in the Dust

Zulaikha, living in post-Taliban Afghanistan, dreams of peace, education, and healing from her cleft palate, all guided by her hope and faith. Her life takes a turn when she meets Meena, who shares her love of Afghan poetry, and when American visitors arrive promising new opportunities and medical care. As her world begins to shift with these changes, Zulaikha's hopes for a better future grow stronger, but she must find the courage to believe those hopes can become reality.
