Every Kind of Wanting intricately weaves together the lives of three diverse families as they navigate the challenges of surrogacy. At its heart is Miguel Guerra, a man from a poor Venezuelan background, and his partner Chad Merry, a privileged real estate mogul. Their journey takes a turn when Chad’s sister, Gretchen, offers her eggs, leading them to seek a surrogate, Emily, who is married to a quirky Irish playwright. Meanwhile, Miguel's sister Lina, who grapples with her troubled past, serves as the narrator, illuminating the emotional landscapes and complexities faced by each character over the nine-month surrogacy period, while also reflecting on Miguel's childhood and family history.
