In January 1943, Detroit private detective Sam Flanagan finds himself drawn into a web of intrigue when Chicago socialite Phyllis Killburn, daughter of a late tire tycoon, seeks his help. Concerned about her husband’s potential infidelity and his mysterious military connections, she hires Sam to uncover the truth. Teaming up with his journalist friend Harry Blevins, and with the unexpected insights of his 82-year-old grandmother, Sam navigates the complexities of the Whitaker Estate, determined to unravel a dangerous plot that could lead to murder.
