In the small town of Loon Lake, Seth Boyd's self-published memoir about the elusive Lake Superior monster, Soupy, has turned him into an unexpected celebrity, drawing national attention and boosting local tourism. As the town prepares for its big celebration, historical society director Elise McKenna grapples with the potential ridicule surrounding Seth's newfound fame. When a TV crew arrives to film a documentary, Elise steps in as Seth's manager to manage the situation, but soon finds that someone is intent on sabotaging the town's image.
