The Mermaid's Cry

When DI Ben Kitto witnesses a baby thrown into Penzance harbour, he hopes it's just a trick of the light, but soon discovers a chilling reality as children begin to vanish during the Burning Sky Festival. Each disappearance is marked by a small mermaid figurine, invoking the eerie legend of the Mermaid of Zennor. As he grapples with personal loss and strives to protect his son, Ben finds himself drawn into a dangerous investigation, with messages from the killer complicating matters. As the summer solstice nears, he must rely on his bond with his son Noah and their dog, Shadow, to avert tragic consequences.
