Vasily Grossman From The Front Line

These BBC Radio programmes feature three front line dispatches by Vasily Grossman, a war correspondent and author of Life and Fate, who documented his wartime experiences during the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The readings include a personal portrait of a sniper, an account of the Battle of Stalingrad, and a sobering account of the mass murder of Jews on Soviet territory, the last of which was initially censored and only rediscovered decades later.
