Understory

In "Understory," award-winning author Inga Simpson shares her poignant memoir about escaping suburban life in Brisbane to seek solace in a cottage nestled among ten acres of trees. This reflective narrative explores her journey of establishing a writers' retreat just before the Global Financial Crisis and the upheaval that followed, while celebrating the profound beauty of nature and her development as a writer. Richly detailed and immersive, the book invites readers to connect with both the forest and Simpson’s personal experiences.
