The Gray Chamber

"True Colors" is a historical fiction story inspired by real events, set in 1887 on Blackwell Island, New York. It follows Edyth Foster, a free-spirited young woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when her uncle takes her to a women's asylum just before her 25th birthday, revealing a darker side of societal and personal struggles. Inside the asylum, Edyth encounters Nellie Bly, an undercover journalist, and together they navigate the challenges of their confinement, seeking to reclaim their independence and true selves.
