The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle

These two short stories, among Washington Irving’s most celebrated works, were originally published between 1819 and 1820 in his acclaimed collection, The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon. Both tales are narrated with the fictional Dutch historian Diedrich Knickerbocker as the authoritative source, adding a distinctive storytelling voice to the narratives.
