Charlie Mason, a retired major crimes detective, is recruited to serve as an in-game constable in the popular virtual reality game Immersion Online. As a complete novice in the game’s mechanics, he begins his journey in the Wilderbrook villages, where he must learn and adapt before taking on his new role in the city of Grandview. Along the way, he encounters an ancient evil, testing his detective skills in a virtual world that is more dangerous than he expected.
