Mr Lismore and the Widow

Wilkie Collins, born in 1824 in London, was a renowned English writer whose early travels and experiences profoundly influenced his literary career. Despite initial setbacks, including the rejection of his first novel, Collins formed a lasting friendship with Charles Dickens and produced an extensive body of work, including 30 novels and numerous other writings. His life was marked by personal struggles and health issues, yet he remained a significant figure in the literary world until his death in 1889.
