When a two-month-old baby goes missing after being left with a babysitter, DCI Rachel King returns from maternity leave to a case that quickly escalates. The child belongs to Scott Agnew, a suspected member of a Manchester drug-dealing ring, and soon, the elderly mother of another gang leader vanishes as well. As Rachel delves deeper, she faces mounting pressure, especially when her partner, Jed, a former gangland boss, becomes the prime suspect in a tense situation that threatens to spiral out of control.
