On the run from a sadistic killer, Marion Baldwin, a fledgling familiar known as Mars, must harness an unusual ability to bond with multiple witches in order to protect the Le Torneau sisters he loves. Following their previous encounter with the villainous Niles Dunn, who is determined to ruin the sisters, Mars realizes that his unique power to form bonds with several witches might be their only hope for survival. As he races against time to gather enough strength and knowledge to confront Niles, the story unfolds with themes of unconventional relationships and adult moral complexities.
