Dawn

Dawn, the first English translation of Sevgi Soysal’s powerful autobiographical novel, captures a single night in a Turkish prison, revealing how resilience and human kindness can help mend broken spirits and reignite dreams. Set in Adana, the story unfolds in a warm gathering that is suddenly interrupted by police, leading to moments of interrogation and hardship. Through sharp humor, vivid observations, and social critique, Soysal paints a compelling picture of exile, injustice, and the unwavering strength found in solidarity.
