Beth Wictum, lab director of the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory at UC Davis, oversees a forensics facility that uses animal DNA to solve crimes, identify remains, and investigate animal-related incidents. The lab boasts the largest domesticated animal DNA database in the U.S. and has contributed to numerous investigative breakthroughs. Complementing this, Christopher Scott, director at Stanford's Center for Biomedical Ethics, discusses the biology, history, and ethical debates surrounding stem cell research in his book, "Stem Cell Now."
