Formerly sold into servitude by her father, Zayda dreams of escape and freedom from her collar, which grants her unique experiences but controls her. When they survive a perilous ocean journey and reach unfamiliar jungle territory, Zayda and Peyne's alliance deepens amid rumors of a lost desert city that may hold the key to her liberation.
