Kassandra Black's rebellious streak led to her expulsion just before graduation, putting her future at risk of losing her chance to attend Columbia University. To regain her footing, she must spend the summer helping her great-uncle Brian with his HEAR program at Henley University, where she uncovers that the research involves extrasensory perception—and unexpectedly, herself. As she interacts with fellow students and navigates these new discoveries, Kass begins to question her understanding of her own abilities and the mysteries surrounding them.
