Serving God and Country

During World War II, thousands of religious leaders from America’s major faiths voluntarily joined the armed forces’ Chaplain Corps, risking their lives to provide spiritual support to soldiers across various battlefields. These men of faith faced immense dangers—from the beaches of Normandy to the jungles of the Pacific—while offering prayer, guidance, and comfort to troops in and out of combat.
