A newly promoted Marine major, Ryck, is assigned to a diplomatic post as the assistant naval attaché to the Confederation of Free States, a role he finds unexciting. However, despite his initial reluctance, he soon finds himself caught up in significant and unpredictable events, leading him from diplomatic duties on New Mumbai to commanding a special operations company. The story follows Ryck’s ongoing career as a United Federation Marine as he navigates unforeseen challenges.
