In 1943 Hollywood, murder mystery playwright Annie Laurence, new to town and eager to connect with stars, finds herself intertwined in a real-life crime at the Hollywood Canteen. After the death of despised film critic Fiona Farris, Annie teams up with Fiona’s friends from the Ambassador’s Club to uncover the killer, discovering that solving a murder in reality is far more complex than in her plays.
