Mixtape for the End of the World

Set in August 1999, "Mixtape for the End of the World" follows high school sophomore Derrick Townsend as he navigates the challenges of moving to a new town, preparing for the Y2K apocalypse, and finding his place through music, friendship, and romance. Amidst the backdrop of small-town life and personal drama, Derrick and his new friend AJ form a band to participate in their school’s talent show, all while contemplating the future and the uncertainties of growing up in the late '90s. This nostalgic story offers a heartfelt glimpse into teenage life at the cusp of a new millennium.
