Echo in Emerald

In the royal city of Camarria, street urchin Chessie navigates life with her two loyal companions, Red and Scar, who are actually echoes—creatures that mimic her friends without independent wills. To hide her mysterious past, Chessie moves swiftly between bodies, maintaining the illusion of three separate individuals. When a murder attempt on the crown prince occurs, she becomes involved in the investigation alongside a high noble, leading them through various settings until a clue points back to her.
