Conviction

In "Conviction," acclaimed author of The Mercy Seat delves into the harrowing journey of Maggie, a young American woman drawn to ISIS by idealism and love, and the profound grief experienced by her mother, Ann, left to grapple with her absence. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a post-9/11 America, exploring themes of loss, empathy, and the complexities of belief as Ann seeks to understand her daughter's choices amid the global rise of extremism. Crafted in a dual perspective, the story poignantly captures both the intimate struggles of a family and the broader implications of war and violence.
