Tawny Bigford, a 35-year-old single woman, finds herself unexpectedly implicated in her landlady's murder when she encounters her corpse during a routine repair. With the help of her landlady’s mystical past, including a snarky black cat, Tawny is recruited by the Paranormal Temp Agency to step into a witch’s role and uncover the truth behind the murder.
