In "Finding Themselves," set in Quapaw City, Arkansas during junior year, the teenage characters known as the Freaks confront the impending realities of adulthood while battling the mysterious Team, a government agency aimed at curbing supernatural threats. With new pressures from college and careers, and the emergence of a formidable creature endangering their town, they grapple with their changing dynamics. As tensions rise, they must navigate conflicting goals and question their own roles in a narrative where they may not be the heroes.
